What it is:
An interactive data protection compliance eLearning module. Learners follow a fictional colleague named Claire as she arrives at work and goes about her day. Learners have to choose the most appropriate method of "banishing" the faceless data snatchers as they try to steal Claire's data.
Feedback is provided as learners choose an option, and at the end of the module there's a short summative assessment to prove their knowledge.
Target audience:
All internal colleagues at Alcumus (c.1,000 colleagues).
Problems it solved:
The existing data protection compliance "module" was a short PowerPoint deck, uploaded to the LMS. It was a wall of text, and learners struggled with engagement. It was internally viewed as a "tick-box" exercise in order to track completions and therefore compliance.
"Attack of the Faceless Data Snatchers" turned the main points of the PowerPoint deck into a much more engaging, fun and story-driven experience using real-world scenarios. The module was a huge success internally and we received feedback saying learners actually enjoyed completing the module - a real success, especially for compliance learning!
